The Explorer section of scouting has three top Awards, Chief Scouts Platinum Award, the Chief Scout Diamond Award and the Queens Scout Award. To achieve these awards you will need to commit to developing and challenging yourself in many new ways. You will spend time in new places, meet new people and develop your communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
The DofE is many things to many people, supporting generations to successfully navigate adult life. 14-24 year-olds can do a DofE programme at one of three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, leads to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
The Young Leaders’ Scheme is a programme of 10 training modules and four missions (projects) designed to help and support those aged between 14 to 18 who work with a section (Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts) as a Young Leader. It gives Young Leaders the skills and knowledge to act as part of the section leadership team, and covers subjects such as a balanced, quality programme, Child Protection, First Aid and leadership skills.
